Some of you may have noticed the banner at the top of the page, kindly designed by Skell (if it's not there, then I can only apologise - I was in a rush to get it out... if anyone has problems, let me know and I'll get it fixed), and may be wondering what it's all about... well, I'll tell you.
Dean at The Oxford approached me a few weeks ago with a BOTB idea. After quite a bit of back and forth & arranging of prizes we've finally got all the details together to make it a reality!
All the detail is listed on the Battle of the Bands page, but I'll state the important stuff here:
The Prizes
* Over £900 of free recording time at Shadow Moses Recording Studios, located on Church Street, Blackpool. * A £75 voucher to spend at Electric Avenue on Whitegate Drive, Blackpool. * £50 cash plus a crate of beer for the winner of each heat, courtesy of The Oxford, Oxford Square, Blackpool.
Rules
Bands are asked to play a 30 minute set of all original material and will be judged on musical ability, vocal performance, originality, song craftsmanship, stage presence and audience reaction/interaction. There will be a number of different judges per heat - to be arranged.
Heat dates will be:
Heat 1: Wed 24th Sept 2008 Heat 2: Wed 1st Oct 2008 Heat 3: Wed 8th Oct 2008 Heat 4: Wed 15th Oct 2008 Final: Wed 22nd Oct 2008
To sign up, head over to the form on the Battle of the Bands page and complete it with your band details. Please be sure to read the terms and conditions as there are a few important points that you need to be aware of to avoid disappointment! Goonies enrty submitted.
One thing though - the bands get marked on vocal performance and we are instrumental. Will there be an alternative category of marks? |

QUOTE posted by Spikeh on 02/09/2008 @ 23:19:02* Over £900 of free recording time
How do you get £900 worth of something that's free already?
Surely, 900 x 0 = 0?
Unless you mean that they win £900 worth of recording time... but I'm sure that won't be it because you specifically said 'free recording time'. Over £900 worth of the stuff.

Meh. |
